Easter on Amorgos

Easter on Amorgos.

Me and Camilla meet one of our dreams in April. We had talked about going to Amorgos in April for a long time, preferably during the Easter week. The trip was better than we could ever imagine, and it was much more beautiful than we could imagine. We had thought that almost everything would be closed in Katapola, guess how surprised we were when almost everything was open, it was only a few tavernas that was closed.

We took nearly 3,000 pictures in two weeks. It is crazy that we came up in such a variety, we've been to Amorgos many times before and there is almost nothing we do not have on picture. The reason that we took so many pictures was that it happened so much during the trip, and that there was so stunningly beautiful. Here is a selection of these images. It has been very difficult to choose, believe me.

DAY ONE
We flew with SAS to Athens
. We took the shuttle bus directly to Piraeus, got the ferry tickets (the first time we pre-booked tickets), ate a gyros and then entered the ferry "Blue Star Paros". The boat was fully booked, it was people everywhere. At 03:30 we reached Katapola on Amorgos. We had left Stockholm 03.00; it was in other words, almost 25 hours from door to door. It is far to paradise. We had as usual booked at Eleni Rooms, however, but not room number five that we tend to stay in, but one of the apartments on the waterfront. The key was in the door and it was just to throw ourselves into the sack and fall asleep to the lullabies of the waves.

DAY TWO
Woke up refreshed and excited about half past ten. Luckily, Eleni had filled up the fridge; we were roaring hungry and had not managed to go to the store and the bakery. After breakfast we went for a walk in the village. A lot of people. We hade lunch at Taverna Mouragio, and then home to the patio for some hours rest. We spend the evening at Mouragio as well.

The third day we began our odyssey around the island, and with it began our cameras to work. All photos are taken by me or by Camilla. Enjoy!

DAY 3 - here starts the story with pictures »
