Aidonia on Andros

The small village of Aidonia in southern Andros is one of several smaller villages in the area. It is not easy to see where one village begins and the other ends. Some of the other villages are Korthi, Piso Meri, Moussionas, Amonaklios and Aipatia. Of these approximately 20 small villages, I have only stopped in Aidonia. As in several other villages nearby, there is running water in the area, and there are many old laundries here, of which the one in Aidonia is the most famous, and it is actually still in use.

This is what I wrote on the blog after we visited the area for the first time: "We have now returned home after a long trip to the villages of southern Andros. Are we impressed or are we impressed? The answer is that we are IMPRESSED! Why has no one said how incredibly beautiful Andros is. We have only seen a quarter of the island and yet we have lost our minds as many times as possible during the day.”

Aidonia is a small village with only 80 inhabitants and it doesn't take long to walk around the village. Nevertheless, I think the village is worth a visit, not least for the unusual, and surprisingly surprised church. Yes, it really looks surprised, or whatever it looks like. Unfortunately, there is no taverna in the village.

Even though Aidonia is a small village, it is easy to get lost.

Aidonia, and the nearby villages, are located about 23 kilometres south of Andros Chora, about 30 kilometres south of Batsi, and about 2 kilometres south of Ormos, as you can see in the picture below.
