Andros has many and varied beaches, ranging from long sandy beaches
to small secluded coves. It is said that there are over 100 beaches
on Andros, but that figure should be taken with a pinch of salt. In any
case, Andros is a beach paradise of large dimensions and several of them
are child-friendly, and really, really nice, on
a par with the beaches on Naxos.
The best beaches are located between Gavrio and Batsi, such as
Chryssi Ammos (Golden Sand), Agios Petros and Kypri. Some of the beaches,
such as Vitali, Ateni and Zorkos, are difficult to
access and can only be reached by private vehicle.
