There is no airport on Andros, yet it is easier to travel to Andros
than to many other islands in the Cyclades. Previously, Athens airport
was far from the port town of Rafina and then tour operators could have
problems with the transfer, so they refrained from arranging trips to
Andros. But now the airport has moved closer to Rafina and this makes
Andros one of the most accessible islands in the Cyclades. Despite this,
package trips to Andros are not very common, but they do occur, so check
with a tour operator in your country if they arrange trips to Andros.
Otherwise, it is easy to travel independently.

BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS
There is really only one suitable place to fly to, and that is Athens.
If you are going to take a ferry from Rafina - which I recommend - you
take the bus that leaves from a bus stop opposite the Hotel Sofitel outside
the arrivals terminal. The bus journey to Rafina takes between 30-40 minutes.
If you are in a hurry, you can take a taxi. The boat journey from Rafina
to Gavrio on Andros takes about 2 hours.

The only port of Andros is called Gavrio.
BY DOMESTIC FLIGHTS
The nearest domestic airports are in Athens and on Mykonos
and Syros.
BY FERRY
Andros has very good boat connections with Lavrio, Piraeus and
Rafina on the mainland, as well as with the islands of Kea, Kithnos, Mykonos,
Paros, Naxos, Syros and Tinos. The port of Andros is called Gavrio and
it is the only port on the island.
In the area there are three smaller beaches and several hotels.
The first beach is called Stivari and it is the one I like the
most, and that is because there is a rock bath there, and the water
is snorkel friendly. However, it is stony and a bit difficult to get into.
After Stivari beach is Aneroussa, or Delavoyas beach as
the beach is also called.
